Treize bakery, or Thirteen, a Baker's Dozen opened in January of 2014 on a dare and a prayer, with the hope of bringing a bit of down home goodness and old fashioned joy to the chic Saint Germain des Près area of the left bank of Paris.
Our food is simple. The service is honest. It isn't the fastest lunch in town, but it will fill you up...body and soul. We work will local suppliers who provide organic, free range, and biodynamic raw ingredients, and who are, as a whole, good people. Everything is made from scratch in the kitchen, which you have a birds eye view into from your table. We believe firmly in bringing the humanity and exchange back to the way we eat. We offer a slew of vegetarian dishes, several gluten free options and can even turn some of the plates vegan for you if you are so inclined. That being said, we are best known for our (not fried) Fried Chicken and French Toast Biscuits (which, yes, is neither vegetarian, gluten free or vegan...), and we make a pretty mean bloody mary;
Tucked deep in a courtyard off the busy Rue des Saints Pères, Treize appeals to the curious wanderer and now, to the dogged directions follower google mapping their way to us thanks to a blogpost or restaurant review...The dining room is tiny, but we serve food from around 10am until 4pm... just in case you don't want to eat at 1pm ( most people want to eat at 1pm...) We also will happily make you a take away lunchbox if you want to eat at your desk. Actually no one really ever wants to eat at their desk... but if you NEED to, we understand. You can also eat your lunchbox in a park. Or on a bridge. Bridges are nice.
We closed on March 31 to pause while we build our new location. We will reopen at 5 rue de Medicis at the end of June. Follow us on social media to keep up with our progress and the announcement of our official opening date!

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and you can get it here between 10ish and noonish.
We serve brunch all day on Saturdays, weekdays untl noonish, and even sometimes on Sundays (though you'll have to ask us about this the next time you're in). The space is very small so we have a hard time accommodating parties larger than seven people.
Served Daily from 12 noon to 4pm. It gets a bit busy around 1pm so come a bit earlier if you are in a hurry and want a speedy lunch, or a bit later if you have a bit more time.
Its like teatime, but a bit more boozy....
We serve tea and cake and cocktails every day from 4pm to 6ish...We make pretty excellent cocktails.
We also make cakes for special events in other sizes., but we work with swiss merigue buttercream and fresh flower decor only. We do have friends that make sugarpaste cakes and will be happy to provide their details to you upon request.
Our beans are sourced and roasted by Caffe Vita. Caffe Vita is an independently owned coffee roasting company based in Seattle, USA, operating since 1995. Our menu changes with the seasons, and with the ingredients our very awesome suppliers can get for us. We do our best to make choices available for our friends who are vegans (though how y'all give up butter is beyond me) and vegetarians, and will do our best to respect your allergies.
We are pretty picky about the meats and animal based ingredients we use- happy cows make better milk which makes better butter. Happy non stressed animals that don't live in cages and eat hormones taste better, and they don't mess with our karma as much, which is kind of important.
